What an Owl Knows

Typography 2

What an Owl Knows is an awe-inspiring exploration of owls across the globe and through human history and a spellbinding account of their astonishing hunting skills, communication, and sensory prowess.

For this book, I wanted to design a cover that was simple and didn't include any picture of an owl. So I included an abstract feather with the "W". Followed by a forest background to give viewers the typical habitat an owl will live in.

Dark Future

Glenn Beck and Justin Haskins' book, Dark Future, highlights the upcoming technologies and social changes that will cause great disruption in the US and other nations. They also provide a plan to protect individuals and families from losing their liberty.

In this design, I wanted to focus on the word "future". A phrase that is said quite often is "you have a bright future." So instead of bright, dark is used. The city background I edited it to be darker but still having the text be the darkest. I then added a feather glow around "Dark Future" to show the reverse of bright future.

Vlahos shares her most impactful experiences working with people in The In-Between, including personal stories while reflecting on her own journey.

This book talks about life, death, and everything in-between. So, for the design, I cut the letters "in-between" the connection points. For the background, I went for a sunset color gradient to represent the in-between of day and night.
